Thank you for visiting my blog. I am Nicole Hodge Amey, an attorney and owner of a Boutique Law Firm, focusing on the rights of Special Education students and their families.

There is so much to know about the Individuals With Education Act. In my practice I regularly discover valuable information that is worthy to be shared and might be helpful to parents, teachers and advocates.

My mother is a special education teacher and many times my discoveries assist her, many times her knowledge informs me. This area of practice entangles education and law, the more knowledge of each the more power for the students.

I understand that many districts lack the federal funding necessary to adequately serve their special education population. I believe that the interests of special needs children and the financial stability of districts are not mutually exclusive.

There is a way that the needs of special education students can be met, and that districts will be able to meet them and students learning in the general population also receive the benefits of a public education.

Join me as I post about the problems, the law, the solutions, the resolutions and all the many facets of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

You may contact me by email at hodgend@aol.com. Please put special education in the caption and I will know you have a comment or question.
